Simmi founded Chacko Law after her role as in-house counsel at Cisco Systems Canada, Telus, Great Canadian Gaming Corp., MDA Corp & Tech Mahindra. In her previous roles, she acted as counsel for businesses ranging in size from start-up entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies. Over the past 16 years, she has been advising leading companies & individuals on Technology, Finance, Commercial, Intellectual Property, Start-up, Real Estate, Media and Corporate matters.
Simmi is a recognized value advisor with an extensive background in managing and negotiating complex transactions in corporate and operational compliance, and legal risk management. She brings an exceptional level of enthusiasm, dedication, and nuanced perspective that makes this firm the holistic solution for their clients.
During her free time, Simmi enjoys working on her jewelry start-up Diamondly, music, fitness, hiking and exploring beautiful Ontario.

Jijo John
Jijo John, in his role as Head of Growth, is the resident growth and strategic marketing advisor, helping Chacko Law scale across various platforms & practice areas. He also evaluates new technologies and opportunities while managing internal operations. He is responsible for business development strategy and engineering relationships within Chacko Law, its partners, and clients.
Prior to Chacko Law, Jijo was Associate Director at Emirates NBD Bank. He specialized in all things related to Treasury Sales, FX, Money Market & ALM dealing desks.
During his free time, Jijo enjoys reading, hiking & volunteering at the local community center with his family.

Senior legal consultant
Ishita Kashyap
Ishita in her role as Senior Legal Consultant specializes in the Corporate and Capital Markets practice. She has a strong track record of advising issuers, as well as underwriters on various Indian equity capital markets transactions (including initial public offerings, qualified institutions placement, block trades and offers for sale through the stock exchange mechanism) and international bond transactions.
She has also counseled investors and their portfolio companies in investment and exit transactions. Her practice spans across various sectors including Retail, Education, Banking and Finance, Energy and Technology.
During her practice in India, Ishita has also provided ongoing advice on Securities Regulatory Compliance, continuous disclosure obligations, stock exchange matters and general corporate law. She has recently developed keen interest in the current trends in environmental, social, and corporate governance and impact investment. Ishita is a natural problem-solver with a keen eye for strategy. Ishita builds a meaningful relationship with clients by using her personal approach to gain a comprehensive understanding of the clients’ business and needs. It is this curious nature of hers that enable her to find practical solutions that best suit the clients. Ishita also stands ready to leverage her network, especially in India to help clients with their legal and business needs.
